You can apply for Medicaid or Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP) coverage, even though Marketplace Open Enrollment for 2014 is over.

Medicaid and CHIP are joint state and federal programs that provide coverage to millions of Americans with limited incomes and some people with disabilities.

There’s no limited enrollment period for these programs. You can apply any time. If you qualify, you (or a family member) can enroll immediately.

Whether you qualify depends on:

Your children could qualify for coverage through CHIP even if you don’t qualify for Medicaid.

How to apply for Medicaid and CHIP

Contact your state agency directly. Use the state dropdown menu at the bottom of our Medicaid page to get contact information.

Fill out a Marketplace application. If it looks like you or someone on your application qualifies for Medicaid and/or CHIP, we’ll send your application to your state agency.
